Mathew is a student athlete whose main objective is to pursue a business degree at a US College or University in the fall of 2013 while playing competitive golf. A competitive collegiate golf program is important to Mathew’s advancement and his ability to attain his goal of broadening and developing his career and playing at the highest level possible. Mathew currently holds a 1.2 index. Mathew’s natural ability and dedication to the game of golf is reflected in his strong results over the past year. This past season, Mathew won five events while competing on the Durham Junior Golf Tour, on route to winning both the Juvenile (two time) and Overall Season Championships. Strong third place finish (low junior) in the Oshawa Golf Club’s Men’s Club Championship behind Jacob Patte (University of Akron, 3rd Place Men’s Canadian Amateur) and James Krantz (Winona State). Qualified and top 25 finishes in the GAO Spring Classic, Ontario Juvenile Championships and Ontario Junior Tours Team Championships. This past fall Mathew finished fifth at the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic championships leading Donald A. Wilson Secondary School to a third place finish in the team competition. Strong showing in Golf Week Junior Tour events including a fifth place finish at the University of Michigan.

Prior to finding a passion for the game of golf, Mathew excelled in several team sports. Over his young career he helped lead his teams to two Ontario Minor Hockey Association championships, a Provincial Lacrosse title and a Provincial Volleyball championship. In addition, he excelled in athletics winning multiple Cross Country races and distance track events.
