2011

It is hard to believe that our 19th season has come to an end. We judge the success of the tour by watching the fun had by all at the events (parents and players alike), the new friendships made and the exciting, competitive golf. That being said, it was another successful season! It is wonderful to watch such young, talented golfers further develop their golf skills, on and off the golf course, in a competitive environment. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank our great group of players and parents. We hope to see you all at the qualifier next season. For those of you who are now no longer eligible to play on the tour, we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. We would also like to thank our host golf courses and sponsors. They contribute a great deal to the success of the tour and they are all a pleasure to work with.

We would like to congratulate the following overall division winners:

Mathew Iceton , Overall Tour Champion - The Butler Cup Winner

Jordan Gallagher, Junior Champion

Mathew Iceton, Juvenile Champion – The Uprichard Cup Winner

Sean Trapp, Bantam Champion – The Sponsors Cup Winner

Congratulations to all of our players on another successful season. Keep up the good work!

Optimist Club of Brooklin - Renewed Partnership for 2012

We are pleased to announce that the Durham Junior Golf Tour has again partnered in 2012 with the Optimist Club of Brooklin to combine our qualifier with the Optimist District Qualifier. Participants will not only have the opportunity to vie for a position on the Durham Junior Golf Tour but also qualify for the Central Ontario District Championships of The Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. The top golfer in each group will be sent to the Central Ontario District Tournament which is held on June 23rd at the Caledon Country Club (Inglewood, ON). The top scorers at Caledon will qualify for an all expense paid trip to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships held in July/August at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The category winners from Caledon, from other age groups may also qualify, (and may travel to the OIJGC in Florida at their own expense,) based on their scores at Caledon.

We wish to thank the Optimist Club of Brooklin for their support of junior golf in our region and we look forward to a long and successful relationship. Complete details of the Canadian Optimist Junior Golf Program can be found at www.cojg.com.
